Where Have All The Wise Men Gone? Jesus Is Not Acceptable For Christmas!

It's CHRISTmas!

Where are the wise men?

WOW - The wise men are MISSING! What kind of Christmas is this anyway?

Are you caught up in the "season" with this Christmas thing? Do YOU know where the wise men are?

For over 200 years we have celebrated Christmas and all of the joys and festivities that go with the "holidays" in this great country of ours. Christmas was declared a federal holiday in 1870 by President Ulysses S. Grant for the purpose of celebrating the "philosophy of good will toward men." What's changed?

And, where are those wise men?

The Associated Press reported last Christmas that in New Jersey the sixth-grade class of the South Orange Middle School planned a field trip to see the play, "A Christmas Carol." However, due to pressure from some of the parents the field trip was "re-routed" to a show, "The Great Railroad Race"!

Why? Because of the concerns from parents that the play, "A Christmas Carol" might have something to do with CHRISTMAS! The school principal told the AP, "There is a great sensitivity to putting students in awkward situations."

Jesus is just not acceptable! Nice...

The school board in Covington, GA last year voted to "remove" the word Christmas from the school calendar!

Hundreds of towns across the US have banned placing nativity scenes and even poinsettias on public property. It seems that the ACLU as well as other organizations have threatened lawsuits and instilled the fear of God, uh, that would be the fear of "a greater power" because we have these "sensitivity concerns" and need to suppress any kind of religious display!

Why? Because Jesus Christ is involved in Christmas. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. Jesus Christ, the great philosopher who believed that all men should love one another!

DOWN with all the happiness this national holiday brings to old and young alike. DOWN with tradition. DOWN with peace on earth and good will towards men. OH, and forget about that love one another stuff! Our world is in such GREAT shape this Christmas that we really don't need any of that LOVE stuff, right?

And just how do we take Christ out of this season, out of Christmas? And WHY would we want to?

Our founding forefathers saw fit to utilize much of Christ's philosophy in drafting the Constitution of the United States, a document that is the rock of this country reads..."One nation under God..."

Where are the wise men? We need them and I hope they show up pronto and start hanging out with us. This US would be WE, mis-guided and very confused Americans!

In the precious name of Christmas and all the wonder, magic, peace and love that it holds, please whisper a prayer that the "wise men" will show up in the nick of time for the world!

Wishing you all the love and happiness of this great Christmas season and abundant blessings of peace,

Easter Blessings
We are all standing on the threshold of one of the most recognized Christian celebrations of the year. For some people, Easter is merely a long weekend. Schools, on the other hand, usually plan a week-long break for the children.

The Easter Bunny That Got Away
After any holiday the Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage and myself enjoy taking a day or two off and just relax. We like to sit around and tell stories. My wife usually starts by saying, "Hey, remember the time when... " And she goes on with a story that I had forgotten about. When she's done, we laugh together. Then it's my turn and I begin, "Hey, do you remember the time when... " And I go on and tell a story that she may have forgotten about, I really don't know. When I'm finished, we laugh together as though it was the funniest thing we've heard all day. It's just our way of relaxing and unwinding after a holiday. Holidays are very busy times for us, we like them, but they do take a little bit out of us. It seems that the older we get, the more it takes out of us. I'm not exactly sure what that means. Just don't tell me what it means! We usually go on with our stories until we're too tired to tell a story or to laugh.

Saint Patrick's Day Celebrations Around the World
Over the past 200 years, Irish people have emigrated to all corners of the earth. Some left their native shores by choice but most emigrated to find work. They settled in towns and cities on the five continents, no location being too remote, too wet, too dry, too hot or too cold. It is for that reason that St Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17th all over the world - just as the festivities wane in one city they begin in the next.

O Christmas Tree
I happened to go into a large retail store recently and was absolutely shocked by the extremely long wall that was stocked from floor to ceiling with artificial Christmas trees. Sizes ranged from those suitable for desktops or apartments all the way up to those that were well over nine feet in height. Choices included spruce, pine, fir and even some that appeared to have freshly fallen snow on the branches.

Life Is Not A Movie
Younger people are shocked when they find out that I was born in the era of "pre-television". I remember the first day that we got the big box that only showed one black and white event at a time with live commercials. O Canada was played at the end of the broadcasting day followed by a test pattern with a soft but steady squeal that could be observed until the following morning.

Memory is an interesting faculty of human life. It is so easy to focus on all the things that go wrong in a day or in life. Fall is a season that reminds us to focus on the things that are going right - and to give thanks. Claiming Christmas
It's a shame that American society has traded the foundation of Christmas in order to not offend others by their beliefs. Other traditions stand firm for their beliefs and don't water them down for our benefit. I'm currently not working so thankfully, don't have to worry about it in the workplace this year. I am claiming Christmas and hope that the reader can give me this one day that brings me joy and accept the love in which it is intended.

Christmas Magic Experienced Through English Literature
English literature provides entertainment for people of all ages, and Christmas time is an excellent holiday in which families can share excellent old classics as well as new stories. There's no better way to open up one's imagination than with an excellent story on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. People used to sit around the fireplace and tell stories about Santa Claus or about the Christmas spirits who visited Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol (1843) by Charles Dickens. It was a time when people even made up their own stories stories. Sharing a good story, analyzing its meaning, and reacting to it as a group effort created bonds between people, connections that prevailed and that were passed down from one generation to the next. Christmas stories will brighten your holidays. Stories by great authors such as Charles Dickens, can help create bonds with friends and colleagues alike. Long live the art of storytelling at Christmas time!

Behold, the Christmas Grinch Cometh
I never have to look at the calendar to know when the Christmas holiday season is approaching. As soon as I lay down my fork on Thanksgiving Day, the battle drums begin to roll. Somebody, who apparently does not have much of a life, takes a pot shot at the Christmas holiday. You would think, from some of their comments, the Christmas holiday was the greatest conspiracy in all of human history. According to these protesters, the very word "Christmas," offends them to no degree. They forbid people to say cheerfully, "Merry Christmas," as if those words in and of themselves would create the ultimate damage to the person hearing them. To placate these values-challenged patrons, some businesses have chosen not to put the word "Christmas," anywhere near their business, replacing that offensive word with the words, "Happy Holiday." Even employees are prohibited wishing customers a Merry Christmas, but rather a "Happy Holiday." This, according to the all-wise Christmas Grinch, is more acceptable than simply saying, "Merry Christmas."

Santa Claus Hasn't Received My Letter Yet
In first grade, our teacher asked us to pen a letter to Santa for Christmas. She asked us, "Name one present you would like Santa to bring you for Christmas." Then we were to write a letter to Santa, who, according to her, lived at the North Pole, and tell him what we wanted for Christmas and why we wanted it. Then, we put it in an envelope and she mailed it to the North Pole. At the time, I thought my teacher had a connection with Santa Claus. She said so many nice things about him that she must have known him personally. Accordingly, I thought a letter delivered to him by my teacher would have credit.
